Decatur on Wheeler Lake

Decatur is the Morgan County seat, on Wheeler Lake along the Tennessee River, about 25 miles southwest of Huntsville.  It had 57,938 residents in 2020.[1]

Founded in 1820 as Rhodes Ferry Landing and named for Commodore Stephen Decatur, it merged with neighboring Albany in 1925.[1]
