Elkmont is a Limestone County town of 411 residents (2020 census) in the north central part of the county, several miles north of Athens and near the Alabama-Tennessee border.  It covers 1.65 square miles.[1]

The town gathers around County Road 49 (Upper Fort Hampton Road) and the old railroad line.  The Elk River flows to the west.[1]
