Eva's story from Cowhead to today

Eva is in southeastern Morgan County, bordering Cullman County, at an elevation of 1,066 feet near the Tennessee Valley Divide.  It counted 589 residents in 2020, up from 519 in 2010.[1]

Settlement began around 1820, when the community was known as Cowhead.  It was renamed Eva in October 1883, after a newborn baby girl, and incorporated as a town in 1963.[1]
