Guntersville is the county seat of Marshall County, Alabama, and the 2020 census counted 8,553 residents. It was once known as Gunter's Ferry and later Gunter's Landing before taking its present name in 1854.[1]
The city sits at the southernmost point of the Tennessee River on Lake Guntersville, a reservoir created by the TVA's Guntersville Dam. Marshall County is also home to Arab, which makes Guntersville one of our nearest neighbors.[1]
