Hokes Bluff is built on a bluff overlooking the Coosa River in Etowah County, with 4,446 residents in 2020. U.S. Route 278 runs through the city, which borders Gadsden and Glencoe to the west.[1]
The city incorporated in 1946 with 1,200 residents, and the area served as a staging point for Cherokee on the Trail of Tears.[1]
