Leesburg is a town in western Cherokee County with 911 residents at the 2020 census. Lookout Mountain and the town of Sand Rock lie to the north, and Weiss Lake on the Coosa River lies to the south.[1]
The town was first called Hamptonville after Joseph Hampton, and the name changed to Leesburg in 1839.[1]
