New Hope is a city in southeastern Madison County with a 2020 census population of 2,889. It sits along U.S. Route 431, roughly 19 miles from both Huntsville and Guntersville.[1]
The community began as Cloud's Town in 1829 and was incorporated as Vienna in 1832. After a fire in 1864 it was rebuilt, and in 1883 it took the name New Hope from the New Hope Methodist Church.[1]
