Pisgah sits on Sand Mountain at 1,375 feet, with the Tennessee River's Guntersville Lake visible below.  It lies just off State Route 71, northeast of Section and northwest of Henagar.[1]

Settlement began in the late 1830s, a post office opened in 1878 and the town incorporated in 1947.  An EF4 tornado on April 27, 2011 moved north of town.[1]
